I had the veggie tacos with black beans and slaw. It was the perfect stop on an unusual day with down pours. The place was small and quaint, not fancy, but very nicely down and lots of covered outside seating areas. Perfect spot to enjoy a healthy meal and some drinks and people watch. All of the servers were very friendly and knowledgable about what they had. For visitors visiting the pier or beach, it is a great stop! It is right outside!

The place was great, I have been saying that I will go to eat here for years and I just never got to it. Then Dine LA came around, and I jumped at the chance. The food was great! Atmosphere was chill, and over all, my experience was everything. Would totally come back... we had the pepitas queso fundido, the guacamole, their pozole, I had the taco platter, and the boyfriend had the fajitas plate....all were good. I wasn't really a fan of the queso at first but the more I ate it the more I thought it was rather yummy! Boyfriend had the Sangria, I had a Cadillac...both were stiff and worth the price. My only real issue was their rice...it was a little bland and totally under cooked. However, I'm glad I finally tried it! It was really good....do yourself a favor! Check it out!

Even if I'm not properly a Mexican food lover because of the spicy food I decided to trust my friends and give this place a chance. Well, good decision, food was amazing. Service and location, well, it's basically Santa Monica Pier baby and finally prices were good. Thanks!

Wanted to eat somewhere at Santa Monica on Cinco de Mayo day and we remembered passing by this place so many times and it always looks full. Made reservation online since we don't know how crazy it might get. Glad we did and we came earlier than the reservation time anyway. Our waiter Eric was wonderfully knowledgeable! Since it was our first time, he recommended us the taquitos deliciosos and red snapper taco. Since we came before 6pm, they still had happy hour going so we added the chips and guac and the half farmers market nachos (the 2 appetizers that we wanted to order anyway but felt it would have been too much if we had ordered both.) The taquitos were muy delicioso for sure! Definitely my favorite dish out of all that we ordered. The chips and guac were ok, guac tasted amazingly fresh. Wish the chips were more full shaped instead of crumbs though (bottom are a lot more crumbs than top.) The farmers market nachos was surpringly good too! I'm used to eating nachos with beef or chorizo, not with grilled veggies, and it was delicious! They didn't just grill it but also seasoned it well. The red snapper taco was not bad, although nothing really stood out for us. Again, the taquitos were the best dish. The drink that we had was called painkiller, it's only for the Cinco de Mayo. It has mostly coconut flavor (I think there was pineapple too?) which was refreshing. All in all, great experience! Got to sit outside which is exactly where we wanted. Although a bit chilly, they have enough heater to cover the patio. Eric was a wonderful waiter! He didn't rushed us even though we were done with our food and we were just there talking, enjoying the drink, which we appreciate a lot! As the night goes by, more people were waiting for a table so we decided to give up ours and let others have great time at Blue Plate Taco. They also played great music, love their choices! Definitely recommend this for those who don't wanna break the bank but still have good food and good times!

Very fun and intimate restaurant next to the pier. There is full service bar seating available to avoid any wait time for a table. The bartender was attentive and answered all the questions. Recommend the guac and chips, best salsa and chip plate in town. The margaritas are unique to this joint, because they use house made syrups and fresh fruit for their drinks.

We were visiting from out of town and my friend recommended this place. It is right on Ocean Ave so great for people watching! We were able to use the parking lot close by and then we walked across the street to look at the ocean and take pictures before heading out so it was perfect! Now about the food! We came for the tacos and they had a 3 taco plate. The menu said all 3 tacos must be the same, but our server let us order 3 different tacos. I ordered carnitas, fish and birria. My favorite by far was the birria. So so good! And the sauce was divine! My least favorite was actually the fish! I thought it was a bit dry! But I will say they did not skimp on the meat at all. I could barely finish my tacos. Also the rice is brown rice so they really try to use super fresh and healthy ingredients which I like. All of the servers are very attractive! It was a very pretty view all around, lol! Fun place, awesome food, great location to hang for a bit! I definitely recommend it!

So good we went back three days in a row. I actually asked to take home the hot sauce back to the UK but they don’t bottle it up just yet! All freshly made. Best tacos I’ve ever had. Nachos also very unique. Must try if you are in the area. Hopefully they franchise this place and it comes to the UK soon! Thanks to Ryan and Morgan our amazing servers. Lovely people.

Very welcoming staff, pleasant environment and great outdoor seating area. Food was delicious! There’s also a happy hour we didn’t know of, so that made everything twice tastier. Additionally, we were given homemade tortilla on the house.
